Welo Badge is a certification reserved for companies that pass our verification, not every business can get it, only those that meet Our Standards on identity, security, transparency, and reliability.

Certified companies can display the badge on their website. It's clickable: any visitor can open the company's official Welo Page and verify in real time that the certification is authentic.
Why was it created?
Welo was built around one clear mission make the web a safer, more transparent, and more reliable place, for both buyers and sellers.

Online, there's no obvious way to tell serious businesses apart from the ones that aren't, welo closes that gap by giving consumers a recognizable trust standard, and honest companies a credible way to prove it.
Who is behind Welo?
Certifications are issued by the Welo Badge analyst team, an independent, third-party body, every company is evaluated against the Welo Trust Standards through a combination of manual and automated checks before the badge is granted.
Is Welo free for consumers?
Yes. Private verification of a website and browsing Welo Pages are both free for buyers, no registration required.
What principles guide Welo's method?

Welo Badge
What do you analyze to grant the badge?
The verification is based on four pillars:

‍Legal identity of the company
‍Technical security of the website (SSL, HTTPS, data protection)
‍Policy transparency (privacy, returns, terms)
‍Commercial reliability (payment methods, customer support)
What happens if a company no longer meets the standards?
Trust is an ongoing commitment, if a company stops meeting our criteria or receives repeated verified reports, the badge is suspended or revoked to protect consumers.
Is the badge secure? Can it be copied?
No. Every badge is dynamically linked to the official Welo Page hosted on our servers. If a user clicks the badge and isn't redirected to a verified page on welobadge.com, the badge is counterfeit.
Does the Welo Badge guarantee I'll never have a problem with a company?
No. The badge doesn't guarantee product quality, delivery times, or the absence of issues, and it doesn't replace consumer rights or local regulations. It means the company meets Welo's baseline trust requirements and showed no critical risk signals at the time of verification.
What are the "Fundamental Requirements"?
They're five pass/fail conditions a company must meet to get the badge: real and consistent presence, verifiable identity and contactability, usable essential policies, no critical red flags, and accuracy of the information provided to Welo.
Which industries are excluded from certification?
Welo doesn't certify gambling, restricted weapons, illegal substances, explicit adult content, extremist content, counterfeit marketplaces, or clear deception schemes, due to regulatory complexity or elevated risk to consumers.

What is the Welo Page?
It's the public, independent profile of a certified company, hosted directly by Welo, in just a few seconds it gives visitors all the verified information that matters: identity, security, policies, reviews, and current certification status.
Who can see a company's Welo Page?
It's public: anyone can open it by clicking the badge on the certified company's website, no registration required.
Is the Welo Page updated over time?
Yes. It reflects the current state of the certification thanks to Welo's ongoing monitoring, including the badge status: active, under review, suspended, or revoked.
Can I request a check on a company that doesn't have the Welo Badge yet?
Yes. With Private Verification you can have any site analyzed before buying, free and without registration. The result stays private, though, and isn't published as a Welo Page.
Reviews
How are Welo reviews different from those on other sites?
Every review is linked to a real interaction and can include visual proof (photos and videos).

We don't allow arbitrary removal of negative reviews when they're truthful and documented, the goal is transparency not reputation management.
Can I import my existing reviews?
Welo prioritizes new feedback verified directly through our system, for historical reviews, we offer integration options, always keeping a clear distinction between Welo-verified reviews and external ones.
Can a company delete negative reviews?
No. If a negative review is truthful and documented, Welo doesn't allow the company to remove it arbitrarily, the goal is transparency, not reputation control.
Do Welo reviews require proof?
Every review is linked to a real interaction and can include visual proof such as photos and videos, when available.
How many online reviews are fake, according to Welo?
We estimate that around 34% of online reviews aren't genuine. That's why Welo verifies every piece of content, text, photo, and video where available, before it's published.

Candidacy & Pricing
How does applying for the Welo Badge work?
Access to Welo Badge is by invitation. Companies register through the official Welo portal, the application is reviewed by our team, and if it aligns with our standards, the company is invited to proceed with the verification process.
How much does it cost to get the Welo Badge?
Access includes an initial activation fee to set up your dedicated Welo Page. After that, an ongoing plan is required to keep the certification active, receive continuous updates, and keep the badge visible.
Which companies can't get the Welo Badge?
We don't accept unregistered businesses or those without verifiable identity, companies with improper practices (fraud, spam, legal violations, recurring chargebacks), sites without minimum security measures, or high-risk industries such as gambling, weapons, illegal substances, explicit adult content, counterfeiting, and deceptive schemes.
How long does the verification process take?
After submitting your application, you'll receive an initial response on review timelines. Most complete verifications wrap up within a few days, with clear, detailed feedback.
What exactly does the certification include?
The Welo Badge Certificate, a personalized Welo Page with analysis and verifications, Welo Awards (annual recognitions), a dedicated Customer Success Manager, priority access to Welo Search (coming soon), and entry into a network of verified companies.
Security & Standards
What is the Welo Trust Standard (WTS)?
It's the public framework Welo uses to evaluate companies and websites, the current version is WTS v2.4. It defines what being verified by Welo means, which requirements are mandatory, and which areas affect the final score.
How does the Trust Score work?
Once the Fundamental Requirements (pass/fail) are met, every company receives a Trust Score from 0 to 100, calculated across eight weighted areas: identity and ownership, security, privacy, payments and checkout, legal and policy, support, reputation, and risk signals. A high score can never make up for a failed fundamental requirement.
What's the difference between the Blue and Gold Checkmark?
The Blue Checkmark is given to companies that meet the fundamental requirements and reach a solid level of reliability. The Gold Checkmark is the highest tier, reserved for very few companies with a minimum Trust Score of 90 and demonstrated consistency over at least one completed re-check cycle, it can't be purchased.
What happens if a company gets flagged after certification?
Welo continuously monitors critical signals. If there are spikes in credible complaints, major changes to billing or checkout, or serious security issues, a re-check is triggered: the badge can be suspended pending clarification or revoked if fundamental requirements are no longer met.
Can a rejected company reapply?
Yes. If a company doesn't pass verification, Welo often provides a summary of what to improve, not getting the badge today usually means "not ready yet," not "never." Once the issues are resolved, the company can reapply.
Businesses & Partners
How does the Welo Partner program work?
Anyone who signs up gets a personal link to share. When a company brought in through that link gets certified and activates a plan, the partner earns a 20% recurring commission on the subscription for 12 months, with no need to handle customer support.
Who can become a Welo Partner?
The program is open to anyone who works with online brands: marketing agencies, freelancers (web designers, Webflow developers, Shopify experts, SEO/CRO/ads consultants), creators and community managers, and security and legal professionals.
How are partner commissions paid?
Payouts are automatic every month, with a choice of Stripe, PayPal, or bank transfer.
What does a certified company get beyond the badge?
A public Welo Page with detailed analysis on security, payments, policies, and reviews, material to demonstrate transparency to customers, and eventually visibility on Welo Search.
