Welo reviews every business with an independent verification process, guided by security, legal, and compliance experts.
Welo only accepts companies that demonstrate a real commitment to security, transparency, and respect for consumers. Our selection process is not automatic: it is an in-depth evaluation that combines technical analysis, legal checks and reputational checks.
Only companies that pass all the steps get the Welo Badge Certification a symbol of credibility recognized by customers as a guarantee of reliability.
Every month Welo opens a new Application Batch, where companies can submit their request for verification. Once the application is received, our team of analysts and legal advisors initiates a comprehensive review that takes into account four fundamental factors: legality, security, privacy and reputation.
This approach allows us to identify the most solid and transparent realities, distinguishing them from those who operate without adequate standards of protection for customers. The entire process is independent: Welo does not accept sponsorships or extra compensation that could influence the result of the analysis.
The central phase of our selection process concerns everything that defines the strength and credibility of a company: system security, data management, transparency with customers and public reputation.
Each candidate site is analyzed to verify that it protects transactions and sensitive data with updated protocols and reliable infrastructure. Our analysts check SSL certificates, payment gateways, anti-fraud systems, and encryption levels, because an online business must be secure first and foremost.
When we identify vulnerabilities or structural deficiencies, we send a detailed report that allows the customer to correct the problems: for us, security is not a technical requirement, but the foundation of digital trust.
In parallel, our data protection experts evaluate how the company manages the information of its users, from acquisition to archiving to its possible elimination.
We review the clarity of the privacy policy, respect for consent, the management of cookies and the relationship with any third parties. A company that processes data in a transparent manner demonstrates that it has a culture of responsibility, an essential requirement for obtaining the WeLoBadge certification.
But technical security alone is not enough. We also analyze the company's reputation and behavior over time, collecting feedback from independent sources, verified reviews and public reports.
We're not looking for perfection, but for authenticity: companies that respond to customers, solve problems and maintain honest communication, even when something doesn't go as planned. Transparency, for Welo, is worth as much as performance.
After technical, legal and reputational analyses, the application passes to the human review of our Compliance Team. Here, a group of experts in digital law, IT security and risk management evaluates the results and decides independently if the company meets the required criteria.
Companies that pass the selection receive the publication of their Welo Page, which transparently shows the result of the analysis, together with the official code of the WeLoBadge to be inserted on your site as a recognized symbol of reliability. Companies that do not meet the expected standards instead receive a complete report with critical areas and can apply again in the next batch, after implementing the recommended changes.
Welo's goal is not to exclude, but to guide: to help every business become more secure, clear and trustworthy.
Obtaining the Welo certification means joining a small group of companies that share the same values: respect for the customer, legality and trust.
A Welo badge increases credibility, improves reputation, and reduces the checkout abandonment rate. It is a visual guarantee for users and a concrete demonstration of the company's commitment to protecting its customers.
Being chosen by Welo is not a privilege, but a responsibility: it means operating according to clear and verifiable principles, becoming a point of reference in your sector.
